Yoga + Fascia Release: Yoga + Fascial Release is a Hatha Basics class that includes fascial release. Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, and nerves. When it's healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move. But when your fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict your movement. In this class, we will release layers of fascia in the body using special props, techniques, and yoga poses. We will also build knowledge of the fundamental postures of yoga in the Hatha style. This class is suitable for beginners, athletes, and those with physical limitations.
Yin Yoga: Yin yoga is a slow-paced class with postures held for longer periods of time. The majority of poses are held low to the ground. Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body - the tendons, fascia, and ligaments - with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. The slower pace may also leave you cultivating a meditative mindset and is a wonderful compliment to your active exercise routine. Open Studio: Your relationship with yoga is unique to you as an individual, and your needs and preferences change on a regular basis. Open Studio provides you with a blank slate setting where you can explore postures (asana), breathing (pranayama), and meditation at your own pace, in an order that best serves you. A teacher will be present to offer guidance as needed, and to provide you with hands-on assists and technical advice. This is your chance to really deepen and expand your own personal relationship with the sacred practice of yoga.
The studio doors will be open during the times designated on the schedule, but you can arrive and leave anytime you please within that window. There are no class "start" or "end" times, no fancy sequences, no loud music. Just you and your practice, and a community that supports you doing this amazing work.
